Hello everyone, today I bring up a question that has confused me for the past week. 

How does one enter a raid?

Being absolutely new to rift (level 50) and MMORPG's in general, I have no previous experiments in raiding. The biggest problem I have is that no matter how much I search through the forums or rift related sites, I still can't seem to find an accurate explanation as to how raids work. I understand that they usually consist of 10 or 20 players. I have also learned from. Browsing the sites that raid can be instance or public. Until recently, I always thought raids were similar to dungeons with the only difference being more players, but that doesn't seem to be the case. First of all, I discovered that there is no automatic queue for raids, as the raid groups have to be created manually. My main problem is: How do players access instance raid dungeons without a raid menu? As I said before, there does not seem to be a Raid menu. How does the entire group enter the same raid dungeon? Do they just have to be in the same party or is something else required? As you can see, I am very confused when it comes joining raiding, as opposed to the straightforward dungeon queue available early on. 

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

I am Using the new HTML 5 Player when watching Videos on Youtube. It works just fine when media.mediasource.enabled is set to "false" but then I cannot get the full experience because the lack of features!

If I enable it, NO Video is going to load, meaning I cannot watch any Video on Youtube! As a workaround I installed the Plugin "Youtube Control Center" (missing in your List below). But it would be nice if I would NOT have to use this…

Even better would be if Firefox would Support WebM. But this does not seem to be the case since YT uses exactly this Format with its new Player… (And if I enable this media.mediasource.enabled (set it "true") NOTHING works anymore.)

I started my own clan a couple weeks ago and everything is going ok. But I'm having a bit of a problem with gaining members. And i have a few general questions.

So question one is what are some of your methods of recruiting? 

Cookie cutter recruiting type posts on the forums yes or no?

Do you do clan meetings? 
What do you discuss? 
Is it with the whole clan or just higher ranks?

I'm also still lokking for a deputy owner... any good place to find one?

Also any general advice is appreciated!

When I use IE10 on Windows 8 RT, then the address bar disappears under the on screen keyboard making it impossible to view the url which is being typed! 

How do I make the IE10 address bar stay above the on screen keyboard?

What's the hold up with giving out beta invites? The longer you stall, the more time goes without me (and probably many others) unsubscribed.

Or are you really only giving out the invites to current members? If so, you're shooting yourself in the foot because there's no doubt lots of people like me waiting to get the invite to resubscribe.

I want to play your game, so let me. I'm tired of waiting.

What is happening ?


I can not access drop-down boxes on almost any website.


I get to a webpage that has drop-down boxes and there is nothing to select .. nothing is displayed.


This is a serious problem for me as I am unable to register properly on websites and even communicate with certain websites.


Please Advise,

Hello,


On an older HP laptop (Pavilion dv7) that originally ran windows7. It has since been upgraded to Windows10, but now I get this error at startup: "No AMD graphics driver installed, or the AMD driver is not functioning properly. Please install the AMD driver appropriate for your AMD hardware."



In the Device Manager, it says I have:

ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 series

AMD Mobility Radeon HD 5000 series



Both installed, but the 5000 series won't install the drivers because of errors and the 4200 series says it is up to date. 



Is there a different driver I can install that will work?

So whenever I plug my Webcam into my PC mic gets recognized but webcam don't, works on my dad's machine and my previous PC but not on my current one, I remember it working on Windows 10 on my old pc as well so it's nothing to do with system I think.

This is the message I recieve:





The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)

This may sound a bit naive to people who have been in the business for long, but when I decided to expand my freelance translation work via proz.com I wasn't all too sure about what belongs in a good application letter (or rather e-mail) and what doesn't. Of course an individual letter responding to the ad is always best, but there certainly are some rules you should stick to. I am not sure that I got them all, but I thought if we worked together here we could give new members a real help.

What I did find out:

Write to the person mentioned in the job ad (if there is a name mentioned), not to "Dear Madam or Sir";
Attach your CV;
Include the link to your proz.com Profile, especially if there are WWAs;
Mention, in short, your education, but don't expand too much and focus on experience relevant to the assignment you apply to;
Name your rate.

Then the question is, should you offer a free test translation or not? There is another thread about this. I think it is a good idea to offer, but after having read the opinions of the others I think it is only in order if it is only 200 words or something like that - and if the company has already agreed to your rate and there is the real chance of you getting the job if the test is ok.

That's how far I got until now.
